Throwing A Stocking Stuffer Party

Hey friends!

How is everyone’s week been?  We are wrapping up school this week before we are out for Christmas break.  I can’t believe the school year is half over.  It is going by so fast.  After posting some pictures on my Instagram stories and getting some questions about our Stocking Stuffer Party, I thought what better way to share the idea than a blog post!

So, if you are interesting in a Stocking Stuffer Party this post is for you! (plus some yummy chili recipes)  First off, a stocking stuffer party is sort of like a favorite things party. It is a fun way to get together with friends over the holidays, but also get a few stocking stuffers marked off your list!

My sweet friend, Diane and I hosted our first Stocking Stuffer Party this year and it was a hit! 🙂

Stocking Stuffer Party Details:
When creating your invitation, you need to designate a price point and number of gifts you want each guest to bring. In our case, the gifts were for our kid’s stockings, so each person brought five of the same gift between $5-$10 each. (not wrapped)

As everyone arrives they lay their gifts out on a table.  Your guests can browse and look at all the stocking stuffers before the choosing begins.

The hostess then decides on the rules for the picking of the gifts.  Everyone draws a number, and for an example let’s say you have 20 guests.  We start with #1 and they are allowed to choose two gifts from the table……anything they want.  (you can even pick 2 of the same thing). Then it goes in order #2 through your last guest, #20 pick two gifts each.

Then we switched it up and the last person (#20) goes first and the order continues backwards.  Again, everyone picks two more gifts until the order gets all the way back to #1.  After this there should be enough gifts left for everyone to take one more gift home.  Starting at #1 everyone goes in order and chooses one more gift. This will give each person a total of 5 stocking stuffers.

This is such a fun way to get unique gifts for your kids and see what other kids are in to!  This year, I picked bicycle lights, a fidget spinner, paint with stickers book, walkie talkies, and a kid size 8 ball.  Such fun things!

(We made a large batch)

Ingredients:

1 large bottle of vodka
1 large jug of cranberry juice
1 liter of club soda
4 bottles of ginger beer
(garnish with frozen cranberries, thyme or mint)

This is such a fun party and always a good time with friends!  I always enjoy seeing what others bring, and it also gives me ideas on things to get for my boy’s stockings.  So, even if you don’t take home everything you wanted, it is a great way to get ideas!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I’d love to hear about your stocking stuffer parties.  Or if you are going to try one, let me know if you have any questions.

XO, Ja’Net
