FRI-YAY!!!!

Well the store we all know and love, LOFT is having a 40% off sale today in store and also online with code HAPPY!  Did you know you can also order online to pick up in store without any extra charge?  How amazing is that!!  I’ve been using this feature for when I just need one or two things, and don’t want to worry about shipping.

I ran in this week and did a quick try-on session with some of my favorites that were available in my store.  In this session, I wanted to show that pieces can be versatile rather if it’s for work, or pairing with jeans or dressing up for a night out.  You can make one top work for all three!

I hope this try on session helps with some of your online shopping and mixing pieces you have in your closet.  You can click any of my affiliated links in this blog post for easy online shopping.  By ordering through my links I do make a small commission.  This does not affect the price of the item.  My job as a blogger is to help make your shopping easier, quicker and less stressful. 🙂  I appreciate your support and thank you for shopping through my links.

Let’s first talk dresses!

DRESSES

This first dress is a flowy long sleeve swing dress that is a great dress for transitioning into spring.   I always was cold when I was a teacher, so long sleeves was almost always a must if I didn’t have a jacket.  This dress has a slight puff sleeve and a thick cuff at the wrist, which I think makes this dress a little dressier and structured compared to your normal swing dress.   The square neckline is also very flattering and would look great paired with a statement necklace.  I am wearing this dress with my blush mules that go perfectly with this look for a more casual feel.  You could also dress this dress up with heels.  Click for my favorite inexpensive  nude and black heels.

Also, you can check out my latest shoe post with all my favorites from Target! Click here for the post.

Adding a fun jacket like this camo one is my idea of easy pattern mixing.  This jacket would look great with so many things!  I love the cropped look and it is light weight for the chilly spring evenings, or for a causal work day.  For reference, the jacket is true to size, but I did size down one size in this dress because I am small up top. 😉  It is very flowy, and I liked how the XS looked compared to the S.  I would recommend trying two sizes if you are not sure.  This dress also comes in petite.

I grabbed this sweet dress on the way to the dressing room.  I love the blue and little hints of blush and the elastic synched sleeves.  My blush mules matched perfectly!  This dress has a small tie at the waist and hit me right above the knee. (I am 5’6 for reference)   It would be perfect now with tan booties, but also nice for the office with flats or heels.   For reference, I am wearing a S in this dress and had plenty of room.  Again, this dress also comes in petite.

I tried this dress on in my last try on session and layered a sweater over it!  This pink sweater came home with me and it perfect for jeans, but can also be layered easily over dresses for a totally different look.  This sweater also comes in three other colors.  For reference, I am wearing a S in this dress.  I did size up in the pink sweater for a more over-sized look and to make it easy for layering.

TOPS

Next up was this blush skirt paired with this stripe top that has hints of blush in it!  Can y’all tell I have a thing for blush.  I am loving a lot of Loft’s skirts right now and grabbed this one just to show you how versatile they can be!  I think this look was one of my favorites!  This top was so comfortable and easy to style.   I will be honest and say I didn’t think much of it on the hanger, but I think it is so flattering on.  I love how it looks tucked in, but also its blousy enough to do a little front knot for a flirty look.  For reference, this skirt is TTS.  I also am wearing a S in this top.

Just to show you this top is also great jeans!  I loved it paired with these lightly distressed skinny jeans.  You can either do a small front tuck, leave it out or tie a small knot in the front.  I really like this top all three looks.  It would pair nicely with a cardigan or denim jacket for chilly weather.  Just love it!

IMG_9020The modern skinny distressed jeans are so comfy.  I own them in two pairs and love the high waist and comfy feel of these jeans.  They don’t stretch out either.  For reference, I am wearing size 25 in these, so possibly size down in these.

This next top came home with me!  I mean they all would come home with me, but my husband might not like me blogging anymore. LOL!  This top is a dark gray stripe utility blouse that I feel in love with.  I mean stripes and gray….what more do we need.  I paired this top with the modern skinny jeans, but it also would look cute with a skirt or pants for the office.  I think these pants in blush are adorable and perfect for spring.  They were sold out in my store, but I did try them on in my January try-on session.  The blush skirt above would also be perfect or this dark gray skirt with a small ruffle is the cutest!!!

PANTS

I mean how cute is this stripe top paired with these olive skinny pants.  They are perfect for the office or throw on some heels and head out for date night.  The pants were so cute and comfy on.  They also come in black which would be perfect with this top too.

I tried to get a close up of the pants so you could see how the pockets are “cargo” like.  There are also small slit pockets in the back.  These pants would be a great addition to your work wardrobe.  They are comfortable and stretchy.   I also couldn’t help but grab this black top!  We can’t have too many, am I right?  I own one very similar (see January session), but had to try this one because look at the sleeves!! I am obsessed.  This top again, would look great with slacks, a skirt or a pair of jeans for a more casual look.  Reference: wearing a small in the black top.  Olive pants run TTS.

IMG_9012This top is the top I had when I came into the store!  I bought this top in December and have had so much wear out of it.  It also comes in white.  I love the sleeve detail and the small ribbons across the chest.  This top is super flattering on the arms because it doesn’t cut you off like a short sleeve shirt can.  If you saw my Instagram post, I wore it with these white distressed jeans.

SWEATERS

IMG_9007

Sweaters are not gone!  The weather is still cold and chilly in most places, so I haven’t packed up my winter clothes yet.  Now is also a good time to buy good staple sweaters at great prices.  I love this coral/orange colored sweater that would be perfect with a pair of white denim for summer dinner out or casual denim shorts for a lunch date or playdate with friends.  It does have a boxy fit, so I sized up for a slouchy oversized look.  I personally like this fit, but if you don’t care for the “boxy” look you may not like this one.  It does comes in 3 other colors as well.

IMG_9008shop the look: V-neck sweater | boatneck sweater | jeans | mules | earrings

I have been eyeing this slouchy V-neck sweater ever since it went on sale last weekend, well I snagged it this time.  It comes in a pretty blue and camel color as well.  It is just so soft and a good staple to have in your closet.  Again, it would look great with a pair of slacks or a skirt for the office.  For a more casual look I like with jeans and slip ons.

IMG_9015This stripe sweater has the cutest tie detail and is a thin light weight sweater.  Sorry for the weird arm pose. 😉 I was trying to show the detail of this sleeve.  This is another great sweater for the office or with jeans!  I wanted to also show you how this skirt looks with a sweater instead of a tucked in top.  So many great ways to style this skirt.  This sweater is another great top for transitioning into spring.

SOMETHING NAVY

shop the look : jeans | navy top

Lastly, a try-on session wouldn’t be complete without something NAVY! I grabbed this top and so glad I did.  The sleeve detail is so prefect to dress up this sweatshirt style top.  I paired it with their crop skinny jeans.  These jeans have light distressing and run TTS.  The difference in these jeans are they hit around the ankle for the “cropped” look.  (I am 5’6 for reference). I also think this top would look great with white denim or denim shorts for the summer.

You can also still shop my January Loft try-on session.  Most of the items are still available and all are 40-50% off!! Click here for my January try-on session.
