Trending…..High Waisted Shorts

Well, crazy me is finishing up another juice cleanse today.  I had a lot of questions about the first one I did and some asked for a blog post, so I wanted to do another to compare my results.  This way I can share two different companies I tried and how they affected me overall.  So stay tuned for that!

Ok. Let’s talk about the high-waisted trend.  I never thought I would be wearing it again, but it has rolled back around and is on major trend right now.  I am always pretty careful when it comes to spending money on a trend, because sometimes well they just don’t last long.  Or if you are anything like me, I like it one day and hate it the next. 🙂

It is safe to say that when I saw these shorts they became keepers!   In this post I am talking all about these floral high-waisted shorts and two different ways to style them.  The best part is these shorts are $20, and on sale right now!! This first look I posted on Instagram last week.  I just knew I had to bring these shorts home when I first saw them.  I am always on the look out for easy date night looks, so I am not chained to wearing jeans every time.  These shorts fit TTS and are so comfortable.  I love the flowy fit and the length is great too.  For reference, I am 5’6.  With this first look, I loved adding just a simple black camisole tank and heels to dress it up.

Styling high-waisted anything, I like to always tuck in my top and make sure it isn’t too blousey.  Sometimes even a messy front tuck will work.  This gives the appearance of a smaller waist and takes your outfit up a notch.  You could also try the bodysuit trend that is big right now.  I am loving this trend and excited to try it!  I have found some great camisoles and bodysuits from different retailers.

Cami + Bodysuits

This cami is unfortunately older, but I love the newer version just as much.  LOFT camis always have a nice fit and fit TTS.  For reference, I wear a small in their camis.

This next look I made it a little more casual, but still giving off date night vibes!  I changed out my cami for a white one, but still tucked it in to accentuate my waist.  My tote bag is an older one, but I found one on sale that is almost the same!  Hurry, it is part of the Nordstrom sale and we know those items go fast!  Click here for similar bag.

I ditched my heels for my go to summer wedges.  These have been so comfortable and love how they go with everything!  They also come in 3 other colors.

This outfit would even be cute dressed down with a V neck tee and flip flops!  My favorite V-neck tees are these from J.Crew Factory.  And if I could choose a pair of sandals from my wishlist it would be these.  I also have this pair in brown, and they are the most comfortable slide sandal I have ever purchased!  Click here to peek at those!
