Favorite Things Party | Summer Edition

Happy Tuesday friends!

Favorite Things Party: Summer Style coming at cha!   Last week I went to a favorite things party at one of my sweet friend’s houses!  If you have never been to one, this is such a fun girls’ night filled with yummy bites, fun cocktails and good laughs!

I was so excited to start shopping for my items for the summer exchange party!  When I spotted this clutch in store, I immediately jumped online to see all the options and if there were more for me to order for gifts! 🙂

My outfit of the night, was perfect for the chilly evening!  I love this sweater blazer from J.Crew Factory.  It gives you all the cozy feels of a cardigan, but with a more structured look.  I went with an all white classic look, that can be easily put together with a pop of color.  Either you can wear a fun shoe, a colorful accessory or handbag.  So many ways to style an all white look!  For reference, this tee and blazer run TTS.  I am wearing a small in both.

I went with these colorful earrings (anything colorful will work) and the navy blazer for my added color.  These nude wedges go with so much and can be dressed up or down.  For reference, they run TTS and come in 3 other colors.

My summer gift was this multi stripe clutch along with my favorite nude lipstick!  This clutch comes in different colors and is such great summer bag for an evening out or lunch with friends.  I also recently discovered this shade of lipstick called “Backtalk” and now am hooked.  It is such a great neutral color and goes on so smooth.

RULES OF THE GAME

This Favorite Things Party, Summer Style works like this.  Think beach, sunny days, outdoors, favorite summer activities and attire!  Everyone is suppose to bring a wrapped gift that is a favorite summer staple item.  The price range is set by the hostess, so everyone spends the same amount.   Your item can be anything from putting your favorite drink ingredients in a tote bag,  to your favorite skincare product or sun screen, or even a fun summery accessory!  There are so many things to choose from when deciding on your gift.

I love going to these parties not only to catch up with friends and have much needed girl time, but to see all the goodies that everyone brings.  There is always some really unique and interesting things like this blanket for the beach.  It keeps the sand away!!  I can’t wait to try this out at the beach!  There was also a really cute round beach blanket like this one.

When it is time for the gift exchange, everyone will draw a number.  This will determine the order as to who picks a gift first.  When it is your turn, you then have the option to either “steal” one of the already unwrapped gifts or you can open a new gift that hasn’t been unwrapped.

This is always fun and exciting to see if anyone will “steal”.  You can also make your own rules, like items can only be stolen 2-3 times.  OR the person that is #1 has the option at the end to steal anything they want.

These were just some of the gift ideas that everyone brought!  So many great ideas for the summer!  There were cute swimsuit cover ups, tote bags, beach towels, and so much more!  I found most items online or something similar to give you some gift ideas.

I was number #8 in our game and when it came my turn to either steal or pick a new gift  I decided to open a gift and sooooooo glad I did!  I brought home this cute wooden clutch and another great lipstick! 🙂
